About
When Adele first appeared on British television in 2007, she raised a veritable storm. Her unpolished and self-conscious presentation was a breath of fresh air. The then 19-year-old young woman had an immediate connection to all generations. Her voice is majestic and, moreover, despite her youth she is able to write lyrics that move young and old alike. Not surprising that she won two Grammy Awards earlier this year for her debut album 19. The now 21-year-old singer from the London borough of Tottenham says that she finds her inspiration on the streets: 'I come from a family in which something crazy happens every day and that makes life exciting.' She does not want to be compartmentalized as a singer. 'I feel equally at home with jazz as with pop. I truly mean every word Iutter.' In the Netherlands she has already scored two huge hits with the songs Chasing Pavements and the Bob Dylan cover Make YouFeel My Love. Adele is a rising superstar.
