About
If John Scofield calls you 'an extraordinary all-round saxophone player', you may be proud. 28-year old British-Canadian tenor saxophone player Seamus Blake is recognised as one of the most creative artists of the new jazz generation. This winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk Award has already recorded seven albums as bandleader for label Cris Cross. Moreover he played and recorded with artists and bands like John Scofield, The Mingus Big Band, Victor Lewis, Bill Stewart and Kurt Rosenwinkel. The saxophone player, who plays both bebop, groove and rock, is a regularly returning guest star with the Mingus Big Band and guitarist Charlie Hunter. This Festival Blake will perform with guitarist Jesse van Ruller, bass player François Moutin and drummer Ari Hoenig.
